Competitors can “bring their best game” to Greater Mankato, where regulation
facilities rank second to none.
Caswell Park hosts major baseball and softball tournaments on fields designed
for the safety and comfort of sanctioned league players.
The Alltel Center’s insulated ice floor allows rapid event turn-around between
rink sports and those requiring other indoor surfaces.
Recently completed on the campus of Minnesota State
University Mankato, the Taylor Center is suitable for
basketball, volleyball, and wrestling tournaments at
the national collegiate level.
Other area facilities combine to provide year-‘round
tournament options for swimming and all other indoor
sports.

Caswell Park was designed and built with major tournament
play in mind, as well as league play. The infields and
outfields are equipped with irrigation and drainage
systems. The infield areas are composed of a water absorbent
crushed granite and have sprinkler heads behind each
pitchers mound. Permanent fence on all fields is 8 feet
high. A portable breakaway style fence is used for fast-pitch
and youth baseball.
For players' safety, magnetized breakaway bases are
used for second and third base. First base is double
wide to minimize runner-fielder collisions. The fields
have a computerized lighting system and electric scoreboards
which can be operated from either the pressbox or the
dugouts. The dugouts rest on a raised concrete slab
to eliminate muddy conditions. Also, each dugout is
shaded by a canopy and includes a drinking fountain,
bat rack and equipment storage area behind the benches.
The complexs main building houses 2 gazebos on
the flat roof observation deck equipped with electrical
outlets and picnic tables. There are also 4 sound proof
broadcasting booths on the roof. Additional seating
can be found on the roof with the concession stand,
restrooms and office space on the ground level.
The grounds feature barbeque areas and dozens of picnic
tables, benches, a large sandbox and playground area.
