Greater Mankato Gearing Up to Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week November 12 - 16
MANKATO Minn. (November 5, 2012) – Greater Mankato Growth (GMG) and the South Central Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are teaming up to celebrate entrepreneurs and inventors during Global Entrepreneur Week November 12 - 16. During the week, new and emerging businesses can attend business-focused workshops, learn about new tools and initiatives, access resources abundant in our area and much more. “Global Entrepreneurship Week gives Greater Mankato the opportunity to showcase the many resources available that make this such an entrepreneurial friendly environment. This will be a great opportunity to bring new businesses seeking services together with those that provide services,” said Jonathan Zierdt, President & CEO of Greater Mankato Growth.
Entrepreneurs, Inventors and the business-building service providers that help businesses start and grow are encouraged to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Week Kick-Off Reception on Monday, November 12 from
4:30 - 6:30 p.m.. The first hour will give attendees an opportunity to network with one another, while enjoying wine and cheese. The second hour will be used to share information on a new innovative online tool, Southern Minnesota SourceLink, designed to connect entrepreneurs and inventors to services and resources in the region. The evening will wrap up with a drawing for prizes specially selected to benefit business productivity and efficiency.
The week of activities continues on Wednesday, November 14, with a series of legal and accounting workshops from 8:30 – 11:15 a.m., as well as open door legal and accounting clinics from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The week concludes on Thursday, November 15, with a day dedicated to business planning and education. Attendees will have the opportunity to utilize curbside counseling between 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. to help develop their business plan and can select applicable business-planning related workshops offered from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m.
In honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the kick-off reception and all workshops will be offered at no charge, although registration is required. All events will be held at the Greater Mankato Business Development Center, 1961 Premier Drive in Mankato.
