When legislators in St. Paul hear about the Greater Mankato region, what do you image comes to mind? Over the past 20 years Greater Mankato has undergone tremendous change from a rural community to a regional center. If we are to get “yes” votes on those initiatives important to our region, we need to redefine the image of Greater Mankato in the minds of our state legislators.

Thank you to all the business owners and managers who took the time to complete this survey. The survey was conducted by Greater Mankato Growth, who was asked by area Representatives Kathy Brynaert, Tony Cornish and Terry Morrow to help gather input from the regional business community. Information from the survey will be used by these local representatives to collectively share the perspective of the Greater Mankato Regional center with their colleagues in the Minnesota House of Representatives, which recently formed a new bipartisan caucus, committed to making Minnesota a better place to do business. The bipartisan caucus issued its own state-wide business survey in October, which served as a starting point for creating the regional survey, which has more details to gain more precise insight into our regional business climate.
