When legislators in St. Paul hear about the Greater Mankato region, what image comes to mind? Over the past 20 years Greater Mankato has undergone tremendous change from a rural community to a regional center. If we are to get “yes” votes on those initiatives important to our region, we need to redefine the image of Greater Mankato in the minds of our state legislators.
Greater Mankato Day at the Capitol is an exciting new legislative event that will bring together businesses from our region and legislators from across the state on Thursday, February 11. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with members of our state legislature, while creating a heightened awareness of the Greater Mankato region.
The day will feature a Reception with Legislators from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Grand Atrium at the Hilton Garden Inn, St. Paul City Center (411 Minnesota Street , St. Paul)
During this event you can visit with legislators from throughout the state to help them get to know your business, your industry and our Greater Mankato region. To cover the cost of the reception, there is a nominal charge for this event, with Greater Mankato Growth picking up part of the cost for members:
• Ticket to Reception: $10 (GMG Member) $20 (Non GMG Member)
• Round Trip Bus Transportation: $25 per person
Prior to the reception representatives from the Greater Mankato community will gather in the Capitol Rotunda from 3:00 - 5:00 to provide information about the Greater Mankato region and also go out and visit legislators in their offices to provide information and personally invite them to the evening's event. We hope you'll be able to participate in this portion of the day as well.
